A delegation from Oregon State University (OSU), United States, visited the College of Bioresources and Agriculture at National Taiwan University (NTU) on March 6, 2026, to further strengthen academic exchange and institutional collaboration in the fields of agriculture and bioresource sciences. The delegation was led by OSU President Jayathi Murthy and included Vice President Rob Odom and Chief of Staff to the President Jennifer Humphreys.
During the visit, the delegation joined an academic exchange session with faculty members of NTU’s College of Bioresources and Agriculture, hosted by Dean Yu-Pin Lin. Dean Lin highlighted the longstanding relationship and academic exchanges between the two institutions and expressed the college’s commitment to further strengthening collaboration with OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences and College of Forestry. Discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation in areas such as smart agriculture, interdisciplinary research, and student mobility, reflecting the strong potential for expanding bilateral collaboration.
The college has recently established student exchange agreements with OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences and College of Forestry, which are expected to facilitate greater student mobility in the near future. In addition, both sides are exploring the possibility of developing a dual Ph.D. degree program to promote deeper academic integration and joint talent cultivation.
The delegation also toured the college’s Smart Greenhouse and the Green Health Center to gain insight into NTU’s latest developments in smart agriculture and related research initiatives. Later in the visit, accompanied by representatives of the college, the delegation met with NTU Executive Vice President Shih-Torng Ding and Associate Vice President for International Affairs Kuo-Hsin Yang, where the two sides exchanged perspectives on future collaboration in agriculture, forestry, and artificial intelligence.
The visit reinforced the growing partnership between NTU and OSU and laid important groundwork for the college’s planned visit to OSU in May, supporting continued collaboration in agriculture, bioresource sciences, and interdisciplinary research to address shared global challenges.
